Naan Bread, a treat at anytime but at 6:30 of the A.M. even more special. There are so many nights I cannot sleep so the first thing I want to do is cook something. Well, this morning it was Naan Bread. I preparation of some friends coming to visit I thought this was a wonderful addition to the soup being served. So out came the ingredients I needed and away I went. This is what I came up with.
INGREDIENTS
1/2-3/4 Cup Of Warm Water
1 – 1/2 Teaspoons Of Sugar
1 – 1/2 Teaspoons Of Yeast
1/3 Cup Full Fat Sour Cream
3 Tablespoons Of Olive Oil
1 Large Egg
1/2 Grated Garlic (OPT.)
2 To 3 Cups Of Flour
1 – 1/4 Teaspoons Salt
2 Tablespoons Butter
1 Tablespoon Chopped Parsley
Add yeast, water and sugar together. Cover and sit for 5 minutes. I actually added all the dry ingredients which I mixed together, then I added the water.
Mixing for 5 minutes the dough should come together nicely. Oil a bowl place dough into it, cover and let it rest for approximately 1 hour or until it doubles in bulk. Cut into 8 sections, roll out into a circle, set aside.
With a little olive oil in a pan on medium heat place circles of dough and fry on both sides.
Serve with chopped parsley, if desired.
ENJOY!
