Discovering totally by accident that I had some artistic ability came as a total surprise to me. I have always believed and known that I do not have any talent of being able to paint, draw, sketch or anything an artist may do.
Looking at the pieces that I have done I often think that the work is someone else’s. Some of the paintings were done from pictures that someone else had done. They were an inspiration to me and gave me the confidence I needed to continue. After a while I ventured out on my own and I am still so totally overwhelmed that my ability grew in such leaps and bounds that I find it difficult to believe I actually put it on to paper with very little difficulty.
Within a short period of time, the Mayor built a place for me to work in. “BIRCH COTTAGE”. It became my refugee I found it easier to work and create in my little space. Being built so I could cope with the weather outside, it is air conditioned for the summer months and heated for the winter months. I absolutely love to be there, leaving the stresses we all have at the door.
I have put together a slideshow of some of my work. I hope you enjoy it.
