This is such a simple recipe and so quick. You have to try it.
INGREDIENTS
2 Portabella mushrooms
Shredded mozzarella
Tomato Sauce
Salami
Other toppings such as peppers, olives, bacon, prosciutto, even a leafy green (once the mushrooms come out of the oven) maybe added.
PREPARATION
Place mushrooms on a oven proof pan. Make sure they are turned upside with underside facing up.
Place mozzarella on the mushrooms,
Followed by your favorite tomato sauce. I used the sauce I made for my veggie lasagna.
I placed salami on top of the cheese. My favourite is Hungarian salami. I do not like the pepperoni on pizza and my favourite is Hungarian salami, so on it goes.
Next add another layer of shredded mozzarella cheese. I find the cheese necessary because it acts as glue to keep the toppings in place.
Place into a 350 degree oven. Bake until the mushrooms are semi soft, or to your liking and all the toppings are hot and the cheese is melted. I placed the stems from the mushrooms on top so they did not get thrown out.
