Seriously, doesn’t this look good? I don’t receive many requests from the Mayor for a piece of my work, so when he told me he would like some sort of sign for his newly built garden area I jumped at the chance. Asking what kind he would like, he said he didn’t care, just something he could hang up. With some newly acquired stencils from Funky Junk, I showed him what I had in mind and he loved it. Though it required a little participation on his part he didn’t seem to mind, I needed him to find some hardware that was old and rusted. He told me he didn’t have any but would make some. We were in business.
First I took two boards and wiped them down. Since they were already aged all I did was dry brushed them with Rustoleum Linen White until I had the look I wanted, After the paint was dried I applied Minwax Polycrylic for added durability against the elements. All I needed the Mayor to do was to prepare and apply the hardware.
When all was done it looked great in his rustic garden work area. I just love the way the whole area looks and fits in with the rest of the garden.
I love it.
An adorable sign and so cool that it’s for the Mayor, but the pallet potting bench stole the show for me! I was wondering if you made it and have an article about it, I would love to share!

THANK YOU SO MUCH I DON’T AT THIS PRESENT TIME HAVE AN ARTICLE BUT I PROMISE THAT IN THE NEAR FUTURE I WILL. I HAVE TO ASK THE MAYOR HOW HE DID IT. EVEN THE PALLET WAS HIS IDEA. I WAS BLOWN OVER. KEEP AN EYE ON MY BLOG AND I WILL POST.

THANK YOU KATHLEEN YES IT IS FUNNY HE ASKED FOR THE SIGN AND I’M NOT QUITE SURE WHY. I JUST ASKED HIM AND HE SAID HE THOUGHT IT WOULD LOOK GOOD. HE’S ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THINGS TO SAVE. HE NEVER THROWS ANYTHING AWAY. I MEAN REALLY, AT HIS POTTING TABLE HE HAS A CHAIN LINK FENCE GATE. ANY NORMAL PERSON WOULD THROWN IT AWAY.. LOL
