Sanford

I have had Sanford for about one year. Not a hard project, just didn’t have the place to finish him.

Once he was started it was very easy to continue and finish him.   The top was stripped with a stripper that I had lying around.  Any kind would do.  The next step was to sand the top so the bare wood was exposed.  I then applied mineral spirits so the stain would be easier to apply.  Minwax Weathered Grey was applied using 3 coats and sanding in between.  The final step was to apply GF Gel Top Coat, 3 layers.

I  painted the bottom half in Rustoleum Charcoal but not before a rough sanding was applied.  When the 2 coats of chalk paint had dried I applied Rustoleum Linen White in a dry brushing method,  Finally finishing  with a coat of Minwax paste wax.

I always love to see the end result because it is usually such a  transformation.

Thank you Carol I love the dry brushing technique but it took me a while to get the hang of it and I had to develop my own technique. For me it was all in the brush I used which now I use this technique on everything I do and guess what, it turns out every time.
