I have many fond memories of my father but one image is always on my mind. He loved his backyard garden, all of his veggies and especially his fruit trees. He could work back there for hours but when he was done he loved to sit under one of the trees and enjoy all that was there. He knew everything about the trees but one thing in particular he loved to do was to graft these trees. The pear tree was his favourite to do this to. He had successfully grafted 4 different kinds of pears and every year we would all get a call to come and take what we wanted, not only the pears but also the apples, cherries and plums.
This watercolour was from the memories in my mind. Looking at this watercolour I see my father and it does look like my father, he even sits and dresses like him.
Dad, this one is for you. To honour you and to let you know that I miss you but I carry you in my heart with the love I have always had for you, I think of you everyday. Thank you for everything you did for us and what you continue to do for us. My prayer for you is “Lord forgive him his sins, and allow him into heaven to rest in peace.” I LOVE YOU.
So pretty and a great way to remember your dad!
