I have made so many scone recipes. Most of which I do like and some I don’t. This is a good one, It is light as long as you don’t over work your dough. You can add, dried cranberries, lemon, currants, raisins, blueberries. dried apricots, almost anything. This time I didn’t add any of those and the scones were still fantastic. If you like scones you will like this recipe.
RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
1 Egg
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
4 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Sour Cream
PREPARATION
Mix all the dry ingredients together and mix.
Add the butter.
Then work it into the flour until you have the consistency of fine little crumbs.
Next add all the wet ingredients.
Mix until dough is nicely combined without overworking it.
Now take an ice cream scoop and load it up with some dough an place onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
Serve with Devon Clotted Cream and some jam. Oh sooo good.
