I found this unique mirror, in a small place called Canborough. It was in an antique shop that was as unique as the mirror itself. My husband and I were glad we had arrived early, so we could beat the crowds of people they were expecting for the closing. When I found the mirror I could envision it in someones home, tucked away looking like it had always been there or front and center in a place of importance. I loved the fact that it was so different, one of a kind and believing that I could add to it’s charm by painting it.
After some sanding, Canny was painted in 2 coats of ASCP, Graphite as it’s base coat. I wanted a dark colour underneath so when I applied the crackle, it would give it an aged look but at the same time not scream at you. The crackle was applied on the Graphite, followed by one heavier coat of ASCP Old Ochre. Several top coats of General Performance Top Coat Satin were applied next to give it a stronger durability.
Loving the way it turned out and hoping it finds a new home.
