Well I have discovered that I love to paint furniture. So I hope that you all don’t mind if I share it here on my blog.
This new found love has caused me many problems since I have started. One being where to do it. Warmer weather is not a problem because the garage is almost perfect. The problem is the colder weather. I really don’t have a perfect space in the house that has good lighting, which I need to see what it is I’m doing and that is tucked away so no one can see the mess. Well, I’ve had to settle on the dining room which has the lighting but absolutely no where to hide the mess. For all these months I’ve have to use bins on wheels to keep all my supplies in. Which are see through and eventually had more supplies piled on top. Mess everywhere and that drives me crazy.
I have been looking for a very long time for a piece of furniture to fit the bin corner but they are always to big or have glass doors. There was always something that wouldn’t work. Not that long ago I had this brain storm and realized I’ve had this tallboy sitting in my garage that might work. Guess what, it does. It could have used about two more drawers but hey, I’m glad that I’ve gotten rid of the eye sore that was siting there.
Well here is my solution to the mess. Not bad. It serves my purpose for now and looks good.
I call this piece Carol. It was purchased from a real nice lady in Welland Ont. Her husband wanted it gone out of the garage along with some other pieces that went along with it. I was elated to find these.
I first painted this in ASCP Coco. When dried, I gave it a wash in ASCP Country Grey, then proceeded to distress it. I finished it off with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat. I loved the look. Well worth the effort and no mess!!!
Good job.
