Back awhile ago I blogged about making sushi. It was the very first time I had made it and my skills were not that great. I have been determined to make it better because my grandchildren love it so much. Every once in a while I would try to attempt it and each time I got a little better at it. I’m in no way an expert but it’s good enough for us.
At a local grocery store once we are done getting our groceries, I head for the kiosk where they make sushi. Partly because our little grandson loves it so much and this way he can choose some to take home, or we stay and have it for lunch there. I have never ever seen a child eat sushi and love it. I think it’s great because it is a healthy meal.
I am in total amazement at the skill the sushi makers have. Making it look so fast and easy. That’s why the first time I decided to make it I thought it would be a breeze. Not so. Well it wasn’t hard but it sure did not turn out the way theirs did. Don’t get me wrong, it was delicious but just not as pretty. Making it a number of times now, I have become better at it since the first time I made it. Still not quite as pretty as theirs, but it is every bit as good.
I wanted to tell you this to encourage you to make it but at the same time not to get discouraged. Just keep at it and trust me you to will get better at making it.
This is a great way to celebrate the Chinese New Year without breaking the bank. Go into my blog and onto the Home Page, in the right hand column under categories, click and find Chinese Food. The recipe is there. Try it you’ll like it.
ENJOY!
