I love to bake. I can make all kinds of different tortes. It’s really funny when I’m in a bakery section of a store that specializes in fancy cakes, I can walk along and say I can make that, that and that. Then I look at the prices and just shake my head knowing that the prices they’re charging are outrageous. There is one torte I make, where the pattern is different on both sides of the same piece once you cut a slice. I’ve seen it in a Polish deli and if I didn’t know how it was done I would drive myself crazy trying figure it out. Continue reading

Cheese and Potato Casserole
When preparing a meal for company it is sometimes challenging to prepare something different and out of the ordinary. I find this with veggies. It seems that we fall into the habit of preparing the same old thing the same old way. So I try to hunt down recipes that are a little different. If they also can be prepared ahead of time that is a bonus. This recipe I have had for years and I love it because of the flexibility of when I can make it. If I prepare a large meal with loads of courses then this potato casserole is perfect because I make it 2-3 days ahead, put it in the fridge and bake it when I need it. Served in the dish it is baked in, also is a time saver. All of these things allow me to spend more time with my guests. Continue reading
Pasta In Fifteen Minutes

Blueberry Streusel Muffins
Every once in a while I get a sweet tooth and today was one of those days. I decided to make these blueberry muffins. Quick and easy. The only hard part is cleaning out the muffin tins, which I leave to the dishwasher. So you can see that there isn’t much work and in about 35-40 minutes you have really yummy muffins.
