Blueberry Carmel Torte

Blueberry Carmel cake, Stuffing,Cauliflower Broccoli Casserole, 023I love to bake.  I can make all kinds of different tortes.  It’s really funny when I’m in a bakery section of a store that specializes in fancy cakes, I can walk along and say I can make that, that and that.  Then I look at the prices and just shake my head knowing that the prices they’re charging are outrageous.  There is one torte I make, where the pattern is different on both sides of the same piece once you cut a slice.  I’ve seen it in a Polish deli and if I didn’t know how it was done I would drive myself crazy trying figure it out. Cheese and Potato Casserole

Blueberry Carmel cake, Stuffing,Cauliflower Broccoli Casserole, 042When preparing a meal for company it is sometimes challenging to prepare something different and out of the ordinary.  I find this with veggies.  It seems that we fall into the habit of preparing the same old thing the same old way.  So I try to hunt down recipes that are a little different.  If they also can be prepared ahead of time that is a bonus.  This recipe I have had for years and I love it because of the flexibility of when I can make it.  If I prepare a large meal with loads of courses then this potato casserole is perfect because I make it 2-3 days ahead, put it in the fridge and bake it when I need it.  Served in the dish it is baked in, also is a time saver.  All of these things allow me to spend more time with my guests. Pasta In Fifteen Minutes

Greek Macaroni sa 012Really, is there a more beautiful site?!  I love, love, love my pasta and always have.  It is my go to meal when first, I am not watching my carb intake and secondly, when my husband is not at home for a meal.  He’ll eat it but to look at his face it says, couldn’t you have made something else?  Though does he like lasagne. Blueberry Streusel Muffins

Blueberry Muffins 013 Every once in a while I get a sweet tooth and today was one of those days.  I decided to make these blueberry muffins.  Quick and easy. The only hard part is cleaning out the muffin tins, which I leave to the dishwasher.  So you can see that there isn’t much work and in about 35-40 minutes you have really yummy muffins.                                                                                                                          Continue reading
