My Imitation Starbucks Green Tea Frappicino

image

My husband and I are addicted to Starbucks Green Tea Frappicinos.  So when we purchased our new blender I set out to try and duplicate it.  I was elated when I made up a recipe that made you think you were drinking the real thing.  It is FABULOUS! imageSuccess !  These are the ingredients you will need.  If you are wondering what is in the little round container it is a caramel sauce I made from sweetened condensed milk.  I will share that recipe with you at the end. imageFirst you add your milk into your blender. imageThen you add your matcha tea. imageNow you can add the instant vanilla pudding. imageThis step is the hardest because it takes all you have not to eat the carmel before you add it to the rest of the ingredients.  It is out of this world! imageThen add your maple syrup. imageTake and add the ice, turn on the blender and combine all the ingredients until the ice is fully crushed. imageNow this is the best bit.  Pour into a glass and enjoy!  See how easy it is. You’ll love this recipe.  ENJOY!

RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

1- 1 1/2 cups of milk ( I used 2%)

2-4 teaspoons of Matcha Tea

2 heaping teaspoons of instant vanilla pudding

1/4 – 1/2 cup of maple syrup

1 heaping teaspoon of carmel sauce ( made from Sweetened Condensed Milk)

2 cups of ice

1/8 Tsp. Xanthan Gum

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

Place in blender and process until ingredients are well combined and ice is totally crushed.  Pour into a glass and top with whip cream if you like.

CARAMEL SAUCE 1 – 300 ml can of Sweetened Condensed Milk

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS In a large stock pot place your UNOPENED can of Sweetened Condensed Milk.  Cover with cold water and bring to a boil.  Reduce heat to a low, place lid slightly off at an angle so some steam is escaping and cook for 2 1/2 – 3 hours.  Always making sure the can is fully immersed in water. Add hot water if needed.  I always boil a kettle of water just in case I need to add more to the pot. After the 3 hours take the can out of the pot and let it cool completely.  Open and you have a sauce that is hard not to eat with just a spoon and nothing else.

This recipe tastes exactly like Starbucks Frappuccino. I came up with the recipe when I decided that I could do it and then we didn’t have to purchase it. Mix all the ingredients together place in a jar with a lid. When needed pour the amount you want into a blender, add ice and blend. SSSOOO good. Great anytime of the year.
