GRILL MASTER

One of my favourite things to do is make signs. This is a very recent one which I made for my son. He is fantastic not only in the kitchen but on the grill no one can come close.
My Baba always said he would be a chef. Well her exact words were “he is going to be a cook man.”
When he was little and would go over to her house, he would walk in and go straight into her cupboards and pull out all her pots and pans and whatever else he needed to cook something up for her. She then would reciprocate by pulling out her dough board (which he now has and uses) and make piroghy (peroghy) with him or something that he would like to do. I don’t know who had a better time. I think Baba did. She would be in seventh heaven if she could cook anything for anyone. But hey, that’s what Baba‘s are supposed to do. So continually being surrounded by someone cooking, its little wonder he is so good at this.
When I had seen this stencil I knew that I had to make it for him. He has a fabulous set up in his backyard with all the gadgets you could want. Like a 250 pound poured concrete island. Now that is not only dedication but a love for what you do and he always does it with professionalism.
HERE’S TO YOU MARK! Enjoy your sign because you are truly a MASTER OF THE GRILL or as the sign says “GRILL MASTER”.

NAAN BREAD

IMG_1892Naan Bread, a treat at anytime but at 6:30 of the A.M. even more special.  There are so many nights I cannot sleep so the first thing I want to do is cook something.  Well, this morning it was Naan Bread.  I preparation of some friends coming to visit I thought this was a wonderful addition to the soup being served.  So out came the ingredients I needed and away I went.  This is what I came up with.

INGREDIENTS

1/2-3/4 Cup Of Warm Water

1 – 1/2 Teaspoons Of Sugar

1 – 1/2 Teaspoons Of Yeast

1/3 Cup Full Fat Sour Cream

3 Tablespoons Of Olive Oil

1 Large Egg

1/2 Grated Garlic (OPT.)

2 To 3 Cups Of Flour

1 – 1/4 Teaspoons Salt

2 Tablespoons Butter

1 Tablespoon Chopped Parsley

IMG_1879Add yeast, water and sugar together.  Cover and sit for 5 minutes.  I actually added all the dry ingredients which I mixed together, then I added the water.

IMG_1878Mixing for 5 minutes the dough should come together nicely.  Oil a bowl place dough into it, cover and let it rest for approximately 1 hour or until it doubles in bulk. Cut into 8 sections, roll out into a circle, set aside.

IMG_1888With a little olive oil in a pan on medium heat place circles of dough and fry on both sides.

ENJOY!
